Monday Wishlist #6: Xmas Special

Monday, 10 December 2012

Today's wishlist is a Christmas special from me and a quick run-down of what's top of my Christmas list this year! Now that I'm older, I don't expect a lot at Christmas and there wasn't really anything that I needed this year so I dropped my mum a few hints about some skincare items I've been lusting after all year, as well a much-needed brush set!

The first item on my list is this Topshop Studded Biker Jacket. I've been after one of these for ages, as this type of jacket is something that can be worn with nearly everything - a great wardrobe staple. I like that the studs are matte black on this particular jacket, as most of the ones I was looking at had shiny silver or gold studs and I wanted something a little more understated.

Next is the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bolero. I remember the first time I saw this pencil months ago and I've wanted it ever since but I haven't been brave enough to splurge on it as I've since acquired quite a few similar lip colours. This will be my first NARS product, so I really hope it lives up to the hype I've created in my head for it!

The cult beauty product Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair has made it onto my list this year and is probably the item I'm most excited about! My mum probably thinks I'm mad to be asking for an anti-aging serum at 20, but I've heard amazing things about the effects that this product can have on acne scars and generally on your skin. And it's never too early to start the anti-aging process!

This beautiful MAC Perfectly Plush Brush Kit is next on my list, and something which is definitely needed in my collection! I only own about 3 make-up brushes, and I'm ridiculously excited to try some MAC brushes. The actual kit is just the prettiest thing, I love the leopard print and the colour schemes - it looks super luxurious!

Another skincare product which I've been lusting after is Origins Make A Difference Plus Rejuvenating Treatment. I saw Kate from gh0stparties raving about this product, and it sounds like a miracle in a jar. I'm keen to try some more of Origins skincare after purchasing my very first product a few months ago.

Quite a modest Christmas list I think, I usually get carried away but this year I've tried to stick to things that I've wanted for a while and would really get a lot of use from. I've only just realised that it's nearly 2 weeks until Christmas and I'm currently having a little freak out. I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet as I don't get paid until the 22nd so it looks like my shopping will be getting done on the 22nd/23rd/possibly even 24th December - help! What's on your Xmas list this year? I'd love to see some gift ideas too, so if you've seen any great gift guides then leave a wee link below!

Monday Wishlist #5

I feel like I've been super reserved with my wishlist this week, just 4 things that have really caught my eye. Since it's coming up for Christmas, I'm trying my best not to lust after much, and concentrate my shopping lust on presents for others - honest!

The first thing on my wishlist this week is this dark red studded shoulder top which I actually saw on my friend Holly's fashion blog. It's from River Island and costs £22. It looks like the perfect top to throw on with a pair of jeans, winter boots and a cosy jacket for some effortless autumn style.

Another thing on my wishlist this week is the Bumble and Bumble Curl Reactivating Mist which retails at £14.25 on LookFantastic. I've heard amazing things about Bumble and Bumble, but I haven't tried any of their products. I recently decided it would be a great idea to cut my own hair, but I ended up hacking away at it with blunt kitchen scissors and funnily enough, it ended disastrously. My friend managed to salvage what was left of it and I'm now left with shoulder length hair so I feel like I need to get some tousled waves in it to give it some volume and life, so I really want to try this mist!

Thirdly, I'm eyeing up these Crest whitening strips like there's no tomorrow! I've never had white teeth and, being a smoker and caffeine lover, my teeth are suffering. I can't find a direct link to these, but they retail on Amazon for around £11-15. I've heard that they can make your teeth sensitive, but I've also heard and seen some great results from them so I'd be willing to put up with a little sensitivity if they work!

Lastly, I'm after yet another Topshop lipstick, this time it's Beguiled. I'm slowly but surely getting more adventurous with my lip colours - I even came home from work with a bright red lip last week! Now that it's cold and icy outside, I'm really not feeling my corals and pinks, and I'm feeling brave enough to try a deep red/wine/berry shade. I love the formula of Topshop's lipsticks, so I think I'll have a wee swatch of this next time I see it. My only worry is that because I'm so pale and my hair is dark now, I'll look like a goth/vampire/dead. Only one way to find out!

As well as lusting after things for myself this week, I've been desperately trying to hunt down some Christmas present ideas. I think I've settled on buying lots of Lush goodies for my family to try and convert them.

What are you eyeing up this week? Do you still treat yourself in the run-up to Christmas?

xx

Monday Wishlist #4

1, 2, 3, 4, 5
This dress from Miss Selfridge is making me seriously want to go shopping! I love the collar detail, the colours, the style, everything. I feel like it could be a great transitional piece for Autumn too - I'm picturing ankle boots and a leather jacket! I've heard that Hydraluron is great for dehydrated skin, which I feel that I have since my skin feels dry and flaky once I've washed it, but gets really oily throughout the day. I'm still venturing into using eyeshadow more often, so I'm sticking with neutral colours and this Stila In the Light Palette seems right up my street! I did want the UD Naked palette, but I can't justify shelling out £30-odd quid at the moment. I still don't own a MAC lipstick but I spied Vegas Volt and I'm in lust. Do I really need another coral lipstick? Yes, the answer is always yes. Finally, I made my very first Origins order last week and I want to try so much more from this brand already. The Clear Improvements mask is definitely next on my list because I do suffer from clogged pores and again, I've heard great things about this mask.

What are you lusting after this week?

Monday Wishlist #3

Monday, 6 August 2012

My camera is still broken - if anyone has experienced an error whilst trying to connect a digital camera to their laptop via USB, please get in touch! It's so frustrating because I have so many photos on there ready for blog posts, but I just can't get them transferred over. I also managed to find a flat and am currently in the process of moving out today and tomorrow, so things have been pretty stressful with that and working a lot.

Just a small wishlist post today, as I've barely even had the time to lust after products recently!

1. Origins Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser - RRP £17.00 - I'm in desperate need of a new cleanser, I'm currently rotating about 4 different sample size ones due to sheer lack of funds to buy a full-size one. When pay day rolls around, I think I'll be investing in this!

2. Topshop Lace Peter Pan Dress - RRP £48.00 - It's my 20th birthday this month, so I'm on the hunt for the perfect dress for my night out. I have hardly any "dressy" clothes since I rarely go out to clubs, but I can picture this looking great with opaque tights and some big black heels.

3. Marc Jacobs Dot EDP - RRP £37.00/30ml - I literally just smelled a sample of this in a magazine, and it's lush! The perfect mix of fruity and floral scents, and I just love it.

4. Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation - RRP £25.00 - I've heard great things about this foundation, and I know that Illamasqua have shades for us super pale folk! I did get their Rich Liquid foundation in the sale, but I guessed my shade and it's far too dark, so I'd really like to try this one in the right shade!

That's my wishlist for the week, I did try not to go overboard because I know that in my current financial situation, any unnecessary beauty items are definitely a luxury and probably not going to be affordable anytime before Christmas for me! But I do believe in treating yourself every now and then, so if I do then I'll definitely be going for one of these products.

Again, please let me know if you've experienced the camera issue because I need desperate help with it! Hopefully I'll be able to get back to regular blogging once I've settled in the flat and everything's a bit more calm, because right now things are just manic!

Monday Wishlist #2

Monday, 16 July 2012

1. YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat foundation RRP £28 - I have a sample of this in shade BR20 and it is the most perfect colour match for me, something which I usually have trouble with when getting a foundation. I thought this might have been overhyped, but I'm loving it so far and dying to get the full size.

2. ASOS Felt Doctors Bag RRP £60 - I'm in desperate need of a new handbag as my current one is too small, and my others are literally falling apart. I love a big handbag, and this looks like it would go with anything.

3. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle RRP £21.50 - I've heard great things about this and considering I don't actually own ANY highlighting products, this is more of a "need" than a "want"... right?

4. MAC Cut a Caper lipstick RRP £14 - It's just typical that this is now sold out just when I've added it to my wishlist! I've never bought a MAC lipstick before but this one really caught my eye. There isn't even a counter near me so this will probably remain on my wishlist forever...

5. REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser RRP £18 - Again, I've heard lots of good things about this cleanser and I'm in the process of weaning myself off of Clinique's 3 Step System so I'd really like to try this. I have super oily skin so the idea of a clay cleanser really appeals to me!

I really had to restrain myself this week and keep my wishlist down to just 5 items. If I had things my way, I'd have a list to the moon and back!

Are there any products which you have been lusting over recently? Have you tried any of these products?
